
ENU Discusses Migration Law Compliance and Safety of International Students

L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted a working meeting with representatives of the Migration Service and the Department of the National Security Committee of Astana to discuss compliance with migration legislation and issues related to safety and security.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization Duman Aitmagambetov, Vice-Rector for Social and Infrastructure Development Lazzat Tolegenkyzy, Director of the Department of International Cooperation Anastasia Karmelyuk, heads of the university's structural divisions, the Deputy Head of the Migration Service Department of the Astana Police Department, and representatives of the Department of the National Security Committee.
Opening the meeting, Duman Aitmagambetov emphasized that effective cooperation between the university and government authorities plays a key role in ensuring the lawful stay of international students and maintaining a safe educational environment.
During the meeting, representatives of the Migration Service and the National Security Committee explained the key requirements of migration legislation, with particular attention given to the registration of international students and faculty members, compliance with residency regulations, proper documentation, and the prevention of legal violations.
Heads of the university's structural divisions and specialists from the Department of International Cooperation presented information on the university's support services for international students and discussed further measures to strengthen interagency cooperation.
Following the meeting, the participants agreed to organize a series of informational sessions led by academic advisors for international students and to enhance awareness-raising, preventive, and advisory activities related to compliance with migration legislation.
