Silver University Participants Continue an Active Lifestyle During the Summer Break

Despite the summer vacation, participants of the Silver University project, implemented by the Institute of Continuing Education at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, continue to take an active part in university life, meet in interest clubs, and develop new creative initiatives.
The latest gathering took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere surrounded by nature. The guest of honor was Kultay Spanova, a participant in international fashion shows, who only this spring took her first steps in runway modeling through the Silver University's "Defile" Club. Today, she proudly represents Kazakhstan on the international fashion stage. Accompanied by her grandson and granddaughter, she shared the story of her first experience participating in an international fashion show. The children learned how studying at the Silver University opened new opportunities for their grandmother, strengthened her self-confidence, and helped her fulfill her dream of walking on an international runway.
Model Zamzegul Beisembayeva also shared her experience with the audience. She demonstrated the fundamentals of runway walking, spoke about her upcoming trip to Europe, and invited participants to join her new creative project.
Raikhan Baimagambetova, Coordinator of the Silver University, summarized the results of the completed academic year and presented the educational programs implemented as well as the plans for the upcoming academic year. Special attention was given to the presentations of participants who attended the Summer School of the Kazakhstan Association of Silver Universities, held at the Tulpar recreation center. They shared their impressions, newly acquired knowledge, and ideas, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and experience exchange among Silver Universities across Kazakhstan.
The event program also featured an intellectual quiz on the history of Kazakhstan prepared by participant Marziya Taglimova, along with an interactive session dedicated to healthy and active ageing. Gulmira Zholbaskanova spoke about modern approaches to disease prevention, health promotion, and maintaining an active lifestyle. Kulyaimash Mustafina introduced participants to memory and attention training exercises, methods for stimulating new neural connections, and modern technologies that contribute to improving the quality of life in later years.
Tota Toktassynova, lecturer of the author's course "What Determines the Body's Resourceful State?", invited everyone to take part in a culinary show that will be held as part of her educational program.
Participants emphasized that, even during the summer holidays, ENU's Silver University remains a place for communication, lifelong learning, creativity, and personal growth. They expressed their willingness to continue participating actively in university activities, strengthening friendships and maintaining an active lifestyle.
The Silver University project aims to provide accessible, high-quality lifelong learning opportunities for older adults, foster their intellectual, creative, and social development, and ultimately improve their quality of life while promoting active and healthy ageing.
