
Saylau-2026: Campaign Results and the Beginning of a New Political Era

On August 24, 2026, Professors of the Faculty of International Relations at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University took part in a discussion on the elections to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which were held on August 23, 2026. The meeting on the theme “Saylau-2026: Campaign Results and the Beginning of a New Political Era” was held on the expert platform of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Among the invited guests were Domenico Palmieri, Secretary General of the Italian Institute for Asia (Italy); Ken Moriyasu, Senior Research Fellow at the Hudson Institute (China); Muise Wahabdeen, Swiss journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Geneva Times, an expert in international relations and human rights; as well as other international guests.
The foreign experts highly praised the political reforms being implemented in the Republic of Kazakhstan, describing them as a new step toward democracy and as necessary measures to adapt to emerging international challenges.
