
Gumilyov Journal of Sociology has been included in List 1 in the field of Sociological Sciences

The scientific journal Gumilyov Journal of Sociology of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University has been included in List 1 of scientific publications in the field of “Sociological Sciences” recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for publishing the results of scientific activity.
This is an important milestone in the journal’s development and a significant achievement demonstrating the growth of its academic standing and scientific status.
In accordance with Order No. 481 dated May 21, 2024, issued by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the journal “Bulletin of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Pedagogy. Psychology. Sociology Series” was included in List 2 of scientific publications in the field of “Sociology.”
More than two years later, the journal has achieved another significant milestone. According to Order No. 619 dated August 19, 2026, the publication has been included in List 1 of scientific publications in the field of “Sociological Sciences.”
Thus, within a relatively short period, the journal has progressed from List 2 in the field of “Sociology” to List 1 in the field of “Sociological Sciences.” This achievement demonstrates the journal’s consistent development, the growing quality of its published research, and the strengthening of its academic reputation.
The journal’s history dates back to 1995, when it began developing within the “Pedagogy. Psychology. Sociology” series of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Since 2025, the journal has been published as an independent scientific publication under the title Gumilyov Journal of Sociology, while preserving the continuity of its longstanding academic tradition.
The journal publishes original scholarly research addressing pressing issues of contemporary society. Its scope covers social processes and transformations, social inequality, social institutions and relations, demographic and family studies, social issues, as well as other areas of sociological science.
Inclusion in List 1 opens up new opportunities for the journal’s further development, the expansion of scientific and international cooperation, and the strengthening of the position of sociology in Kazakhstan within the international academic community.
