More than 5,000 first-year students have started a new academic year at ENU

The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted a celebration of Knowledge Day, timed to coincide with the start of the new academic year. In 2026, 5,326 first-year students joined the ranks of ENU students, more than 4,286 of whom became holders of educational grants.
Celebrations and concert programs were held for new students at all faculties of the university. The first-year students were introduced to the educational opportunities of ENU, the peculiarities of the academic process, student organizations and the intense extracurricular life of the university.
ENU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Ardak Beisenbai congratulated the first-year students on the beginning of a new stage of student life.
"Every young person who chooses the Eurasian National University comes here with big goals and dreams. This year, our first-year students include 955 holders of the Altyn Belgi badge, 832 graduates who graduated with honors, as well as winners of international and national Olympiads. This is a clear evidence of the high level of preparation of applicants and the trust of young people in our university.
This year, ENU celebrates its 30th anniversary. Becoming a university student during such a significant period is a special event for us. I am sure that new knowledge, interesting projects, discoveries and opportunities for professional and personal development await you ahead. I wish each of you to reach your potential, realize your goals and achieve high results. May your student years become an important and bright page of your life!", Vice-Rector said.
Meruert Bakhytzhan, a 1st-year student of the Faculty of International Relations, shared her first impressions.
"For me, becoming an ENU student is a great joy and at the same time a responsibility. From the very first days, I felt that the university provides students with ample opportunities not only for quality education, but also for comprehensive development. Modern educational infrastructure, library, coworking centers, sports complex and dormitories create comfortable conditions for studying and student life. I am grateful to the university for such an atmosphere and opportunities," the first-year student said.
The event "Welcome to ENU – Open Air" continued the festive program. Student organizations and clubs presented their activities, and musical and dance performances created an atmosphere of real celebration. The event ended with contests and activities, as a result of which the most active participants received ENU image products.
