Meeting of the Head of the Department of Regional Studies with first-year undergraduates

On September 2, 2026, the head of the Department of Regional Studies, Professor A.N. Ospanova, held an introductory meeting with undergraduates of the 1st year of study of the Regional Studies educational program.

During the meeting, the undergraduates were provided with information about the specifics of the educational program, the structure of the educational process, the content of the disciplines and the basic requirements for mastering the master's program. Special attention was paid to the organization of independent work of undergraduates, the observance of academic integrity, the development of research competencies and active participation in the research activities of the department.

Professor A.N. Ospanova explained the procedure for selecting and approving the topic of the master's degree, the requirements for the preparation of scientific publications, participation in conferences and other scientific events. The undergraduates were given recommendations on the formation of an individual educational and research trajectory, working with scientific literature and modern information resources.

Issues of academic mobility, participation in international educational and scientific projects, interaction with teachers and scientific supervisors, as well as professional development opportunities in the field of regional studies and international relations were discussed separately.

At the end of the meeting, the head of the department wished the undergraduates a successful start to the academic year, active scientific work and high academic achievements, emphasizing the importance of a responsible attitude to learning, initiative and constant professional self-improvement.
