
Orientation Conference Held for Second-Year Master’s Students of the Department of Physical and Economic Geography

On 3 September 2026, at 10:00 a.m., an orientation conference for second-year Master’s students was held at the Department of Physical and Economic Geography, Institute of Natural Sciences, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The event took place in Room 433 of the CISI Building.
The conference was attended by second-year Master’s students from both the winter and summer admission cohorts, as well as their academic supervisors. Students admitted in the winter intake received information on research practice, while students admitted in the summer intake were briefed on pedagogical practice and preparation for research internship.
The opening and introductory remarks were delivered by Aigul Yeginbayeva, Head of the Department of Physical and Economic Geography, Associate Professor, PhD. She emphasised the importance of systematic planning of academic and research tasks for the new academic year.
Zhanslu Inkarova, Candidate of Biological Sciences and Associate Professor, provided explanations on the organisation, procedures and key requirements for research and pedagogical practices. The meeting covered the main stages of the practices, the content of the required work, preparation of reporting documents and compliance with the approved schedule.
Sabina Toksanbayeva, Adviser for Postgraduate Education, Acting Associate Professor, PhD, explained the specifics of preparing for the research internship and the algorithm for working in the Smart ENU system. During the conference, the Master’s students asked questions and received the necessary clarifications.
The orientation conference was aimed at ensuring the systematic organisation of research and pedagogical practices, as well as research internships for Master’s students. Such meetings support students’ adaptation to the academic process, help them plan their research work and clarify their professional development pathways.
