Curatorial Hour at the Department of Political Science: Internal Rules and Social Media Culture

To mark the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year, an important organizational meeting was held on September 9, 2026, at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of International Relations of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. A curatorial hour was organized for the 2nd-year students of the Political Science educational program (group C-23) to discuss upcoming academic goals and university guidelines. The session was led by the group's curator, Darmen Kaliolauly.
The primary focus of the meeting was on maintaining the university's internal discipline and fostering a proper culture of social media usage among students. The curator detailed the importance of digital etiquette, academic integrity, and personal responsibility in the online environment. A special emphasis was placed on the fact that, for future political scientists, demonstrating professionalism, media literacy, and ethical behavior in digital spaces is just as crucial as it is in the physical classroom.
The curatorial hour featured an interactive dialogue, allowing students to ask questions and actively engage in discussions regarding campus life. Such initiatives are essential for building a respectful academic community, ensuring student adaptation, and maintaining a healthy educational atmosphere. The meeting concluded with the curator wishing the students a successful, productive, and inspiring new academic year.
