The Silver University at ENU Concludes the Course “Fundamentals of Runway Walking for Older Women”

The Institute of Continuing Education of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University conducted the course “Fundamentals of Runway Walking for Older Women” for participants of the Silver University.
The course lecturer, Zhanneta Zhalmukhamedova, introduced participants to the basic principles of graceful and confident walking and spoke about the importance of proper posture, elegance, and movement culture. During the practical sessions, participants learned how to maintain correct posture, balance, and stability while walking, as well as how to feel more confident when walking and performing in front of an audience.
Special attention during the course was given to developing individuality and self-confidence and to helping each participant emphasize her natural grace regardless of age.
Nagima Kysykova, the group leader, shared her impressions of the course:
“We are very pleased with the course. I believe that every person should have a beautiful and graceful walk that reflects their age and individuality. Thanks to these classes, we have become more confident, and people around us have already noticed the change. Last year, we created the ‘Defile’ Club, and today people of different ages approach us asking us to organize similar classes without age restrictions.
We are very grateful to the Institute of Continuing Education of ENU for providing us with such a wonderful opportunity to improve ourselves, develop our abilities, and discover new talents.”
Silver University participant Zamzegul Beisembayeva also highly appreciated the content and practical focus of the course:
“To be honest, during this course I gained several times more knowledge than I did during the previous two months of training at another modeling agency. Zhanneta Maratovna does not simply teach us how to walk on the runway. She explains every detail, helps us understand our mistakes, reveals the individuality of each model, and genuinely shares her knowledge and experience with us.
I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to the Silver University for this wonderful opportunity to learn runway walking, develop myself, try something new, and discover my abilities regardless of age. Thank you for the knowledge, for the opportunity to learn, and for the wonderful people I have met along the way. I am very happy to be here!”
Today, the “Defile” Club of the Silver University at ENU brings together more than 40 older adult participants interested in developing movement culture, runway walking, stage presence, aesthetic taste, self-confidence, and creative potential.
The Club’s activities include practical classes, master classes, rehearsals, runway shows, and creative meetings, as well as participation in university, city, and international events.
The main idea of the “Defile” Club is to demonstrate that style, beauty, creativity, and an active lifestyle have no age limits. The club-based format of the Silver University creates a space for communication, self-realization, and social engagement among older adults.
The activities of the “Defile” Club are fully aligned with the overall concept of the Silver University at ENU, which promotes active ageing, lifelong learning, social engagement, and the development of a person’s creative potential throughout life.
