ENU Students Represented the University at an International Summer Programme in Singapore and Vietnam

Two students of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University took part in the four-week international summer educational programme ASEAN Summer Programme: Entrepreneurship & Innovation, held in Singapore and Vietnam.
ENU was represented at the programme by: Rabbiya Yergalikyzy - student of the 6B02209 Oriental Studies educational programme and Ibrahim Dalelkhan - student of the 6B03105 Regional Studies educational programme.
The programme was hosted by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore and VinUniversity in Hanoi. NTU served as the main organiser. The students’ participation was supported by ENU: they received financial support under the ENU Students Ambassador programme.
The programme brought together students from ASEAN countries and other parts of the world and focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and the development of practical skills in an international environment. Within the Entrepreneurship & Innovation track, participants studied the entrepreneurial process, the development of an entrepreneurial mindset, principles for creating and developing business ideas, as well as innovation and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Teamwork was a key part of the programme. Students worked in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams, developed business models and innovative solutions to current global challenges, and presented the results of their projects. The academic component included lectures and practical workshops on Design Thinking, Systems Thinking and intercultural competencies, as well as meetings with CEOs and company representatives who shared their professional and entrepreneurial experience.
Field trips and exposure to industry were another important component of the programme. Participants visited innovative and technology-driven companies, met entrepreneurs, business leaders and industry experts, and learned about the history of the companies, their business models and operating principles.
Taking place in two countries, the programme combined academic learning with cultural exchange. In Singapore and Vietnam, students explored local culture and the characteristics of the business environment. In Vietnam, particular attention was given to analysing the country’s business environment and developing market-entry strategies for business models targeting the Vietnamese market. The programme also included cultural activities, city tours and visits to historical sites.
Participation in the ASEAN Summer Programme gave ENU students an opportunity to gain academic experience at leading Asian universities, work in international teams, develop entrepreneurial and intercultural competencies, and establish new professional and personal connections with students and experts from different countries.
