Intergenerational Dialogue: Political Science Club Students Met with Silver University Attendees

On September 11, 2026, a joint meeting of students from the Political Science Club and attendees of the Silver University took place at the Eurasian National University. The event was held under the leadership of G.B. Askeyeva, the head of the Silver University R.I. Baimagambetova, and Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science M.Yu. Onuchko, along with members of the Political Science Club, attendees of the Silver University, and silver volunteers.

It is especially symbolic that the meeting began with a pleasant and now-traditional moment — the induction of first-year students as new members of the Political Science Club. For the students, this became an opportunity to actively engage in the intellectual, social, and cultural life of the university right from the first months of their studies.

The program of the meeting was rich and diverse. One of the brightest highlights was a fashion show of national clothing prepared by graduates of the "Basics of Model Walk" course. The participants showcased national costumes, presenting them not only as elements of traditional culture but also as an important part of the modern cultural space.

The show generated great interest among the students and Silver University attendees. It served as a kind of bridge between generations, allowing for a fresh perspective on national traditions, their preservation, and modern interpretation.

Particular interest was sparked by the presentations from the silver volunteers. Their accounts of their activities, public initiatives, and personal life experiences were met with great attention. Following the presentations, an open question-and-answer session was held, during which participants were able to freely exchange opinions and discuss topics of interest. The live dialogue format ensured that the meeting was not limited to pre-prepared speeches, but evolved into full-fledged communication between representatives of different generations.

The joint meeting of the Political Science Club and the Silver University demonstrated that the university is a space that unites people of different generations. Here, the experience of the older generation and the energy of the youth can complement each other, creating conditions for mutual learning, mentorship, and constructive dialogue.
