ENU First-Year Students Get Acquainted with Their Future Profession

A career-guidance meeting between first-year students and industry community representatives took place at the Department of "Standardization, Certification, and Metrology" of the Transport and Energy Faculty at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The meeting served as a platform for an open dialogue among future specialists, faculty members, and practitioners in the fields of technical regulation, standardization, certification, and metrology.

The event was attended by invited experts and heads of relevant organizations:

Gulmira Baimurzina -Mentor of the Department, Assessor and Technical Expert in the National Accreditation System of the RSE on REM “National Accreditation Center”;

Aigul Daribayeva - Head of the Republican Academy for Technical Regulation, Standardization, Certification and Metrology;

Margulan Faleyev - Head of the Conformity Assessment and Accreditation Division of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, first-year students learned about the specifics of their future profession and the role of standardization, certification, metrology, conformity assessment and accreditation in ensuring the quality and safety of products and services.

Representatives of the professional community shared their practical experience and discussed current requirements for specialists, employment prospects, and opportunities for professional and career development.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening the connection between education and professional practice. Students had an opportunity to ask questions and receive practical recommendations directly from industry professionals.
