From Germany to new practices: ENU improves quality assurance system

The delegation from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University has successfully completed the professional development program “International Quality Assurance Systems,” organized by ASIIN

19 members of the University’s faculty members and administrative staff participated in the professional development program held from September 14 to 19 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

During the training, participants discussed topics such as improving approaches to enhancing quality assurance in higher education, explored international best accreditation practices, and examined ways to improve educational programs.

As part of the practical sessions, participants focused on ASIIN quality standards, subject-specific criteria, as well as their practical application in the assessment of educational programs. Particular attention was paid to the use of SWOT analysis and Bloom’s taxonomy. Participants analyzed the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and potential threats associated with the development of educational programs.

As part of the program, the delegation visited the Georg Agricola University of Applied sciences  (THGA) in Bochum and Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (HSRW) in Kleve. There participants met with university leadership, learned about their approaches to organizing the educational process and quality assurance systems. They also visited teaching facilities and laboratories.

At the conclusion of the program, the participants received certificates and emphasized the importance of such training for the development of the University’s internal quality assurance system, the improvement of educational programs, and the implementation of international approaches and best practices in higher education quality assurance.
