Institute of Natural Sciences Hosts Seminar on Artificial Intelligence in Research

On September 25, 2026, at 10:00, the scientific seminar «Applying New Approaches to Research Tasks Using Artificial Intelligence» was held in room 333 of academic building No. 3. The seminar was conducted by Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Lecturer-Researcher of the Department of Chemistry Ruslan Z. Safarov. The seminar is part of the university plan of events for the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.

The seminar was attended by faculty members, doctoral students, master's students and undergraduate students of the Institute of Natural Sciences. Deputy Director for Science and International Relations S.B. Zhangazin and Deputy Director for Social and Cultural Development G.S. Makasheva were present. The seminar was also attended by Director of the Online Learning Department L.S. Sabitova and Director of the Digital Development Department A.S. Omarbekova.

The speaker showed how AI supports work with research data: running a project together with an AI agent, obtaining calculations through program code, verifying scientific references against databases, extracting numerical data from graphs and images, and preparing documents formatted to standards. Participants also learned how ENU staff can connect to ChatGPT Edu and were introduced to the rules for the responsible use of AI in research.

The seminar was successful, and participants showed notable interest in the topic. They noted the practical value of the approaches discussed for their research and studies.
