Malaysia’s Minister of Higher Education Zambry Abdul Kadir Appointed ENU’s Honorary Professor

At The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Malaysia’s Minister of Higher Education Zambry Abdul Kadir delivered a lecture on higher education and international academic cooperation. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, university leadership, faculty members, and students.

On behalf of the university, ENU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Ardak Beisenbai welcomed the distinguished guest and emphasized the importance of developing educational and scientific ties between Kazakhstan and Malaysia.

“Kazakhstan and Malaysia share a commitment to advancing education, science, and international academic cooperation. For universities, this cooperation has a tangible impact: students gain opportunities to study in another country, researchers can work together, and faculty members can exchange experience and new approaches to teaching,” Vice Rector said.

Today, ENU is developing academic and research ties with leading universities in Malaysia. The university has signed a number of memoranda and agreements with Malaysian higher education institutions, including Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Universiti Malaya, and City University Malaysia.

Fifteen professors from leading Malaysian higher education institutions serve as international academic supervisors for ENU doctoral students. In addition, Malaysian scholars deliver lectures and conduct seminars at the university.

Since 2021, 30 ENU students have studied at Universiti Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, and Universiti Teknologi MARA through academic mobility programs.

During his lecture, Zambry Abdul Kadir shared his vision of the development of higher education systems, international academic ties, and the role of universities in contemporary society.

At the conclusion of the lecture, ENU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Ardak Beisenbai thanked Zambry Abdul Kadir for his insightful lecture and presented him with a certificate of ENU’s Honorary Professor, following a decision by the university’s Scientific Council.
