New Opportunities of Artificial Intelligence in Science Discussed at ENU

A scientific seminar on integrating modern artificial intelligence technologies into research was held at the Institute of Natural Sciences of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

The speaker was Ruslan Safarov, a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Chemistry and a Candidate of Chemical Sciences. Through specific examples, he demonstrated how neural networks and AI agents can streamline routine research processes and improve the accuracy of results.

During the seminar, participants explored practical applications of AI in research:

• Collaboration with AI agents in managing research projects.
• Automation of calculations and data acquisition using programming code.
• Source verification and checking academic references against specialized databases.
• Data digitization: extracting precise numerical values from graphs, charts, and images.
• Publication preparation: automatically formatting scientific documents in accordance with GOST and international standards.

The audience showed particular interest in instructions for accessing the ChatGPT Edu platform as ENU staff, as well as discussions of ethical standards and guidelines for the responsible use of artificial intelligence in academic settings.
