ENU students met with Rakhymzhan Turysbek

As part of the national “Reading Nation” project, the Scientific Library of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University organized a meaningful spiritual meeting with Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor and scholar Rakhymzhan Turysbek on the topic “The Book - A Priceless Treasure.”

The meeting was opened by Bakytzhan Orazaliev, Director of the Scientific Library, who began by commemorating the birthdays of prominent figures of Kazakh spirituality – the great writer Mukhtar Auezov, renowned literary figure Sherkhan Murtaza, and outstanding figure Oralkhan Bokey. The rich heritage and meaningful works left by the great representatives of national literature were discussed extensively, as well as their place in Kazakh literature and spiritual culture. In addition, the Head of the Library spoke about the work of the library staff and the conditions being created for readers, encouraging them to visit the library more often.

The meeting continued with scholar Rakhymzhan Turysbek, who addressed such important topics as the role of books in human life, reading culture, “personal library collection,” and the “book laboratory.” Particular attention was paid not simply to reading a book, but to understanding, researching, reflecting on it, and gaining spiritual nourishment from it. In response to the question “How is a book written?”, Professor Rakhymzhan Turysbek gave a meaningful and insightful answer based on his own creative and academic experience. The scholar’s life experience and love for literature encouraged young readers to reflect and strengthened their interest in books.

During the meeting, the students also took an active part and freely shared their thoughts. An open exchange of views on literature, science, creativity, and reading culture made the meeting even more meaningful and enriching.
