ENU Faculty and Staff Share Experience of Participating in the ASIIN Program in Düsseldorf

A meeting dedicated to the outcomes of the participation of representatives of L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in the international ASIIN professional development program was held at the university. The training took place in Düsseldorf, Germany.

During the meeting, representatives of the university’s structural units and departments shared the knowledge they had gained, the practical results of the training, and their experience of studying international approaches to quality assurance in education.

The participants noted that the competencies acquired can be applied in the university’s work to support international accreditation processes for educational programs, prepare self-assessment reports, analyze recommendations from external expert panels, and improve internal quality assurance mechanisms.

“The knowledge and international experience we have gained will help improve approaches to supporting accreditation procedures, preparing self-assessment reports, and analyzing recommendations from external expert panels. It is important to apply these practices systematically and integrate them into the university’s existing quality assurance processes,” said Larisa Nefedova, Director of the Department of Strategic Development.

ENU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Ardak Beisenbay emphasized the importance of further improving the educational process and systematically updating educational programs in line with modern requirements and international practices.

“Particular attention should be paid to developing a preparation plan for the upcoming accreditation of educational programs under ASIIN standards, as well as ensuring that the comments and recommendations received following the previous accreditation are addressed,” Ardak Beisenbay stated.

Following the meeting, the participants agreed to use the knowledge gained through the program to further develop ENU’s internal quality assurance system. Priority areas include improving educational programs, developing quality assessment mechanisms, increasing the efficiency of internal procedures, and preparing for international accreditation.

“Studying international approaches has broadened our understanding of modern quality assurance mechanisms in education. The experience gained should be used to further improve quality assurance procedures, educational programs, and the university’s internal processes,” concluded Sholpan Toleuova, Director of the Department of Quality Assurance.
