
Scientific Seminar with a Purdue University Professor Held at IDSAI

On October 1, 2026, the Department of Computer and Software Engineering of the Institute of Digital Sciences and Artificial Intelligence hosted a scientific seminar with the participation of Prof. Eric Matson from Purdue University, USA.
Prof. Eric Matson delivered a talk entitled “Using AI to Detect and Remediate Illegal Drones”, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence methods for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles and countering their unauthorized use. The presentation addressed modern approaches to intelligent monitoring, autonomous systems, and the use of AI technologies in security-related tasks.
The seminar also featured presentations by doctoral students of the educational program 8D06104 – Computer Engineering and Software.
Aiymbai Sungat Zhumabekuly presented his research entitled “Intelligent System for Digital Monitoring of Road Infrastructure Objects Based on Video Analytics Data”, focusing on intelligent monitoring of road infrastructure objects using video analytics data.
Zhussupov Yesset Maratovich delivered a presentation entitled “Quantum Computing as a Service: Inside Amazon Braket”, covering the capabilities of cloud-based quantum computing and the Amazon Braket platform.
Following the presentations, participants discussed the research topics presented. Prof. Eric Matson shared his professional perspective, highlighted the relevance of the research areas, and provided recommendations for the further development of the doctoral students’ work.
The seminar provided a platform for scientific exchange, discussion of current trends in artificial intelligence, video analytics, unmanned systems, and quantum technologies, as well as for strengthening international academic cooperation.
