Open Seminar for 3rd-Year Students at the Department of Political Science

As part of the pedagogical internship of 2nd-year master's students of the "Political Science" major, Aidana Bolatbayeva and Dilyaram Khamitova (scientific advisor – Candidate of Political Sciences, Professor E.L. Nechayeva), an open seminar was held for 3rd-year students at the Department of Political Science.
The class was held in the format of a business game titled "Geopolitical Auction: Central Asia on the Grand Chessboard." The participants divided into teams representing various global and regional powers, and during the game, they evaluated the strategic importance of Central Asia, potential risks, and the interests of states in the region.
Special attention was paid to the practical application of knowledge acquired during the study of geopolitics. Students had to argue their teams' positions, conduct negotiations, make decisions under time constraints, and take into account the actions of other participants.
The game format allowed for a more dynamic seminar and engaged students in discussing pressing issues of international relations. The participants actively joined the work, proposed their own solutions, and defended the positions of their teams.
Such class formats allow for combining theoretical preparation with practical work and developing students' skills in analysis, argumentation, negotiation, and teamwork.
