More than 120 seedlings were planted by ENU and the Kazakh National University of Sports in Astana

The L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University and the Kazakh National University of Sports held a joint environmental campaign "Roots of Friendship". The event was initiated by the ENU Ombudsman Nelya Shapekova.

The main objectives of the campaign were to strengthen interuniversity cooperation, environmental education of young people and a practical contribution to the greening of the capital.

The environmental initiative was attended by faculty, deans, members of the Board of Directors and the Management Board, staff and students of the two universities. Together, they planted more than 120 young trees grown in ENU's own nursery. The participants were assisted by an eco-volunteer from Pavlodar, Yuri Hashek, who shared professional recommendations on proper planting and care of seedlings.

Welcoming the participants of the action, Rector of the Kazakh National University of Sports Tursynzada Kuangaliyeva and ENU Professor Tlegen Sadykov noted the importance of joint academic and social projects. According to them, the planted trees will become a living symbol of friendship, cooperation and long-term partnership between the universities.

Special attention was paid to environmental education during the event. The participants took part in the training seminar "Give the Earth a garden", where they learned about the importance of caring for nature, preserving ecosystems and proper care of green spaces.

The guests also got acquainted with the infrastructure and achievements of the university during the tour.

The action ended with the presentation of personal certificates to all the activists who took part in the creation of a new green space.

Now each participant has his own tree, the growth of which can be observed for many years. And the new square will become not only a part of the green appearance of the capital, but also a symbol of friendship uniting the two universities.
