On the Open Class Conducted by the Department of Construction in the 1st Semester of the 2026–2027 Academic Year

On October 10, 2026, an open class was conducted by Senior Lecturer Sh.Zh. Zharasov at the Department of Construction, Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, within the course “Geoinformation Technologies in Construction” on the topic “Direct Methods of Spatial Data Collection.”
The class was held for second-year students of the 6B07330 “Digital Design in Construction” educational programme, group B074-7330-25-02.
The aim of the class was to provide students with theoretical knowledge of direct spatial data collection methods, introduce the principal techniques for acquiring geospatial information, and develop practical skills in applying modern geoinformation technologies in construction.
The following topics were covered during the class:
- fundamental methods of direct spatial data collection;
- principles of geodetic measurements and determination of object coordinates;
- application of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technologies for spatial data acquisition;
- integration and application of collected data in geographic information systems;
- practical importance of spatial data in the design and construction of engineering facilities.
The class addressed theoretical and practical aspects of spatial data acquisition, processing, and application in the construction industry. Particular attention was paid to the accuracy of spatial measurements and the potential of geoinformation technologies for solving engineering problems.
