L.N. Gumilyov ENU Receives New Shimadzu Analytical Equipment for Polymer Research

L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University has expanded its research base with modern analytical equipment from the Japanese manufacturer Shimadzu. Under a contract, the university purchased a Shimadzu LC-40 gel permeation chromatograph. The equipment has already arrived at the university.

The purchase was made under the scientific program IRN BR24992883 «Establishment of a Scientific and Technological Park of Petrochemistry and Polymer Materials for Providing Services and Implementing Applied Research Results in the Priority Sectors of the Country's Economy».

A gel permeation chromatograph determines the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of polymers. This is one of the key characteristics on which the strength, viscosity and other properties of materials depend.

The new equipment will allow the university's scientists to study polymer and petrochemical materials at a modern level.
