Celebrating Hangul Day
On October 8, 2026, the Korean student club “Horangi” at the Department of Oriental Studies held an event dedicated to Hangul day, the day of the Korean alphabet.
As part of the event, club members delivered an informative lecture on the history of Hangul, its structure, and its linguistic features. Participants learned more about the principles underlying the Korean writing system and its unique characteristics.
The program continued with a series of educational and entertaining games related to the Korean language. Through interactive activities, guests had the opportunity to test their knowledge, discover new linguistic facts, and learn more about Korean culture.
Events like this help students broaden their understanding of the languages and cultures of other countries while creating opportunities for communication and the exchange of experiences beyond the classroom.
We would like to thank the “Horangi” club for organizing this event and for its contribution to fostering students’ interest in the Korean language and culture!
