
Civil service – by meritocracy principles
The Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs Darkhan Zhabykbayev met with graduate students of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and told them about the conditions for entering civil service upon graduation.
Opening the meeting, ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov noted that alumni of the university are in demand in the labor market and are employed in good companies.
“I am sure that many of you entered ENU in order to become a qualified specialist, a comprehensively developed persony and serve your country. Each of you dreams of obtaining a good job. Our university creates necessary conditions for this. As a result, today the employment rate of ENU alumni is 97%,” Ye.Sydykov shared.
The Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs Darkhan Zhazykbayev spoke about the innovation, thanks to which alumni of universities who studied on a grant with high academic performance, from this year can get a job in the state apparatus of districts, rural areas and cities of regional significance without any competition. He stressed the fact that the society needs competitive personnel.
“Today, when applying for public service, attention is paid to abilities and competencies of specialists. The main task of the Agency is to form the openness of the public service. One of the goals is to ensure unhindered employment in civil service by meritocracy principles,” he said.
Darkhan Zhazykbayev spoke on civil service digitalization, changes in testing when applying for a job in the state apparatus, the potential of the youth personnel reserve and the formation of a regional personnel reserve.
Following the meeting, the guest answered students’ questions and presented letters of gratitude to the university staff and students for their active contribution to the development of ENU and ACSA joint projects.
