Open classes by lecturers of the Department of Chemistry

On October 29, 2026, the Department of Chemistry of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University held open classes. PhD, Acting Associate Professor D.A. Birimzhanova conducted a class in the discipline "Fundamentals of Quantum Mechanics and Computational Chemistry" on the topic "Introduction to the Avogadro, MolView and GaussView interfaces, building simple molecules" for students of the educational program 6B05306 – Chemistry of Organic Substances and Polymers. Candidate of Biological Sciences, Acting Professor N.M. Omarova conducted a class in the discipline "Water Treatment and Wastewater Purification" on the topic "Composition of wastewater. Research methods and general pollution indicators" for students of the educational program 6B05301 – Applied Chemistry.
During the open classes, the lecturers demonstrated the use of modern educational and digital technologies aimed at developing students' professional competencies. Particular attention was paid to combining theoretical material with practical tasks, to the use of specialized software for modeling molecular structures, and to methods for analyzing the composition and pollution indicators of wastewater.
Following the open classes, the participants exchanged views on improving teaching methods, increasing students' cognitive activity and making effective use of modern technologies in the educational process. The classes were of practical and methodological value and contributed to sharing the teaching experience of the lecturers and to improving the quality of training under the department's educational programs.
