ENU Discusses Youth Participation in Implementing the President’s Address

The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted an expert dialogue platform entitled “Youth in the National Development Agenda” to discuss the strategic priorities outlined in the President’s Address to the people of Kazakhstan.
The event brought together members of the National Kurultai, representatives of government agencies and youth organizations, public figures, faculty members, and students.
The central focus of the discussion was the role of young people in implementing political reforms and strategic initiatives set out in the Head of State’s Address.
In his welcoming remarks, ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov noted that this Address stands out from previous ones for its depth and broad scope.
“The goals set out in the Address are designed not for just one or two years, but for the long term. Young people also have an important role to play in achieving the objectives outlined in the Address. Unity and social harmony are essential to accomplishing these goals. Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich consistently emphasizes the importance of these values in his speeches. All these initiatives are aimed at shaping the country’s future and are being implemented first and foremost for you—the younger generation, who will be responsible for building that future,” Rector emphasized.
Kairat Kambarov, Chair of the Committee for Youth and Family Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted in his speech that, according to statistics, Kazakhstan has 5,896,000 young people, accounting for almost one-third of the country’s population.
“All the work being carried out today is aimed at creating favorable conditions for the younger generation. These efforts are intended to improve young people’s well-being, help them find their place in life, and unlock their potential. Our main task as representatives of government bodies and the parliamentary community is to work together with young people to implement meaningful and promising projects,” the speaker said.
Member of the National Kurultai Akerke Iskanderova called on students to take an active part in the country’s social and political life:
“The Address should not be viewed merely as a list of instructions, nor should you think that it does not concern you. It is important to study each section carefully and consider how the initiatives outlined in it can be put into practice. If next year is declared the Year of Nationwide Development, each of you should ask yourselves: What contribution can I make to the development of this area?” the politician remarked.
During the dialogue, participants discussed the key provisions of the Address, prospects for the development of education and digital technologies, opportunities for professional self-fulfillment, and ways in which young citizens can contribute to social transformation.
At the end of the meeting, the speakers exchanged views with students on youth initiatives, pressing public issues, and opportunities for young people to participate in Kazakhstan’s development.
