ENU Researcher pays a visit to Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Türkiye

From 26 October to 3 November 2026, Diana Akizhanova, PhD, Associate Professor at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, completed a research internship at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ), Republic of Türkiye, within the framework of an international academic and research mobility programme.

The research visit was conducted as part of the scientific project AP23490448 “Consistency of Kazakh Onyms in English-Language Texts: Translatory Research.”

During the internship, research activities were carried out in the fields of linguistics, translation studies, and onomastics. Academic meetings and research seminars were organised with international colleagues. In addition, guest lectures and scholarly discussions addressed the translation of Kazakh proper names into English, including issues of transliteration and standardisation.   

As part of the research internship, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akizhanova held academic discussions with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kürşat Cesur of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University regarding opportunities for strengthening scientific cooperation, conducting joint research, and preparing publications for international academic journals.

This academic mobility contributed to strengthening the international research connections of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, facilitating the exchange of scientific expertise, and enhancing the international visibility of research conducted by Kazakhstani scholars.
