ENU allocates “JANA ASU” grants to support commercialization of scientific results. This year, 50 projects of university scientists participated in the open competition.
“The main task of modern domestic science is commercialization of scientific and technical activities of scientists. The Head of State has repeatedly noted in his speeches that production and science should work closely. Modern scientific achievements should improve the welfare of the people. Therefore, since last year we have initiated the “JANA ASU” project aimed at commercializing promising scientific projects and ideas at the expense of the university. This year we have increased the number of grants, and we plan to continue this tradition in the future. As part of the transformation of the university into a research university, much attention is paid to cooperation with large companies and the development of applied science, as well as the introduction of the results of scientific developments of our scientists into production,” Yerlan Sydykov, L.N. Gumilyov ENU Rector said.
The author of the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor of ENU Architecture Department Zhandarbek Malibekov plans to create a modular model of an innovative yurt equipped with solar panels, communication, Internet and a number of other features. He is convinced that such a yurt will be widely in demand by tourists, agricultural worker, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other services, and it can also be used in emergency situations.
Nurzhan Bolatov, a lecturer at the Faculty of Transport and Energy, is developing an innovative garbage management system in multi-storey buildings. The scientist plans to create a demonstration model of a garbage chute for collecting, sorting and transporting waste to the lower level of the building. The scientific idea will allow sorting waste and using it as a secondary raw material at manufacturing enterprises.

Scientists Muratbek Arpabekov and ENU graduate student Karim Mazmanov have developed an innovative platform for finding and hiring digital specialists. They intend to simplify and improve the recruitment process for companies.
“Our project will support small and medium-sized businesses. We have conducted a survey among more than 100 business representatives. They have problems with automated hiring, while they have access to extensive specialists through the marketplace, but there is no quality check. We will check the quality of specialists’ work in 3 stages with the help of artificial intelligence,” Karim Mazmanov, an ENU graduate student shared.
ENU Senior lecturer Amangeldy Nurzada was given the opportunity to continue the implementation of a unique project to create the first automatic system for recognizing the Kazakh sign language. ENU allocated a cash grant to the scientist for the second time. His scientific development was also supported by the World Bank.
It should be noted that the internal grant “JANA ASU” was established by the Eurasian National University in 2022. Last year, 4 scientists became the winners of the competition.
