Association of Educational and Scientific Institutions "Siberian Open University" was established on January 26, 1998 at the initiative of the founders:
• Altai State University (ASU),
• Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) and
• National Research Tomsk State University (NGTU).
The association as a legal entity is registered in Tomsk. President of the Association was elected rector of Tomsk State University, Professor Mayer Georgy Vladimirovich. Since 2016, the president of the association is the rector of the Scientific Institute Tomsk State University professor Galazhinsky Eduard Vladimirovich.
The Association is the first Siberian university consortium that aims to create a unified scientific and educational space based on modern telecommunications and distance learning technologies, combining the intellectual resources of universities and scientific institutions in the region. The association operates in accordance with the accepted charter https://ou.tsu.ru/ustav/.

Eurasian Association of Universities was created at the constituent congress in 1989 as the Association of Universities of the USSR on the initiative of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, supported by the twenty largest universities of the Soviet Union. In 1992, the Association was transformed into the Eurasian Association of Universities. (EAU CHARTER).
Today Eurasian Association of Universities (EUA) is the authoritative and influential international organization of universities. It includes all the national universities of the CIS countries, the leading regional universities and universities of Eurasian countries.
Currently, the Eurasian Association unites 128 universities of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
The highest governing body of the Eurasian Association is the Congress of Association. In total 12 congresses of the Association was held: They were held in Moscow, Kiev, Baku, Ashgabat, Kazan, Minsk and Astana.
Associations of Asian universities: The idea of establishing the Association of Asian universities arose and was discussed at the International Student Asian forum "Altai - Asia 2012". At the same time a memorandum was signed on the need to unite in the framework of the Association for the realization of integration goal, mutual cooperation and academic exchange. During the year, the universities carried out a large amount of work: they coordinated basic provisions of the Charter on the establishment of the Association, committed access to the public and state authorities.
IREG is an international non-profit association founded in Brussels in 2009, in accordance with Belgian law, on the initiative of the International Ranking Expert Group (IREG) The observatory is designed to establish partnerships with theorists and practitioners in the field of academic ranking.
Unai, initiated in 2010 by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, is aimed at enhancing cooperation with higher education institutions in support of United Nations goals. Participation in the initiative gives the university the benefits of membership in the growing network of students and scientists engaged in active work on the organization of activities and research in order to create a single global intellectual culture of responsibility towards society.
Union of Turkic-speaking universities formed with the participation of the Eurasian National University in 2014, working in the framework of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States unites 14 universities of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan. The goal is to strengthen ties between students and teachers of the Board Members and the improvement of education quality assurance, academic mobility, as well as joint projects and research.
Regional network "Education and training in the field of nuclear technology (STAR-NET)” was established in September 2015 as an association in accordance with the Austrian Law on associations with international participation.
Regional network of STAR-NET established to develop, manage and preserve nuclear knowledge and to provide qualified human resources in the nuclear field in the countries participants, whose educational organizations involved in this network, as well as improving the quality of human resources for the safe and sustainable use of nuclear technology.
ICRANet (International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics Network) Сеть международных центров релятивистской астрофизики - международная научная организация, проводящая и популяризирующая исследования по релятивистской астрофизике и в близких областях. Членами организации являются четыре страны и три университета/исследовательских центра: Армения, Бразилия, Италия и Ватикан, а также Аризонский университет (США), Стэнфордский университет (США) и ICRA (Италия). Координационный центр ICRANet размещается в Пескаре, Абруццо, Италия.
Соглашение о создании ICRANet и её устав подписаны 19 марта 2003 г. Организация официально признана парламентом Италии 10 февраля 2005 г.
Директором организации является Ремо Руффини, организация состоит из руководящего комитета и научного комитета. Их работа обеспечивается административным корпусом и секретариатом ICRANet.
Деятельность ICRANet направлена на поддержку международного научного сотрудничества; для этого планируется и осуществляется ряд исследовательских проектов в области астрофизики, космологии, теоретической и математической физики.
В рамках достижения целей, заложенных в уставе организации, подписаны соглашения о научном сотрудничестве между ICRANet и несколькими университетами, а также национальными и интернациональными научно-исследовательскими институтами.
Особенно следует отметить Международную программу аспирантуры, IRAP PhD, созданную под эгидой Сети международных центров релятивистской астрофизики. В рамках этой программы объединили усилия: Свободный университет Берлина, Университет Ниццы — Софии Антиполис, Швейцарская высшая техническая школа Цюриха, Университет Савойи, Римский университет Ла Сапиенца и Университет Феррары. Программа спонсируется ICRANet, а также ICRA, Обсерваторией Лазурного берега и институтом IHES (Париж, Франция).
Многочисленные публикации в научных журналах и книгах как исследовательской, так и методической направленности являются итогом деятельности членов ICRANet.
