An integral part of the educational process is the organization and conduct of professional practice for students, which is organized in each course on the basis of concluded cooperation agreements with practice bases.
The labor intensity of 1 credit of practice is 30 academic hours (6 hours per day with a 5-day working week) and the duration of practice for 1 credit in weeks is 1 week for all types of practice.
The main and mandatory types of professional practice at the university are: educational/educational-introductory, psychological-pedagogical, pedagogical, production, industrial/pedagogical, pre-diploma, research. The educational program of scientific and pedagogical master's and doctoral studies includes two types of practices: pedagogical (DB cycle) - in the organization of education; research (PD cycle) - at the place where the dissertation was completed. The specialized master's degree educational program includes practical training (PD cycle) in organizations, institutions, and companies.
The organization of practice (of all types) at all stages is aimed at ensuring continuity and consistency in students' mastery of professional activities in accordance with the requirements for the level of graduate training.
The timing of the internship is set in accordance with the curriculum and academic calendar, taking into account the capabilities of the university’s educational and production base, practice base organizations and the level of theoretical preparedness of students.
2 months before the start of the internship, preparatory work is carried out at the department: searching for a practice base, concluding agreements on cooperation/joint activities or a tripartite agreement.
On the formation of a practice base
The organization of all types of internships is carried out on the basis of concluded agreements on cooperation for conducting professional internships for students and on joint activities.
Agreements with the bases of professional practice of students are concluded no later than one month before the start of the internship and are signed in electronic format using an electronic digital signature in the information system https://smart.enu.kz/, in exceptional cases in paper form.
Before concluding contracts, it is necessary to conduct an analysis and assessment of the practice base for providing the necessary safety conditions, taking into account the material and technical level and the qualifications of the specialists working on it.
Based on the concluded agreements for conducting professional practice for students, the faculty prepares a submission to the AIS Platonus (3 weeks before the start of the internship) signed by the dean and head. department, indicating the head, type, place and timing of the internship. When uploading data on practice in the presentation, each student is attached a scanned version of a cooperation/joint activity agreement for professional practice or a tripartite agreement.
The database of organizations/enterprises and companies with which agreements on cooperation/joint activities have been concluded to conduct professional internships for students on the university website is updated weekly. For this purpose "Cooperation Agreement Database" is created. Google drive link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YGzy5RUIxOrNr1J2hx9mtTVz0-8XudW0?usp=sharing
On the procedure for assignment to internships and monitoring of internships
Before each student goes on all types of internship, the department holds an orientation conference to familiarize them with the internship program, an introductory briefing on safety precautions at internship sites, the rights and responsibilities of interns, the requirements for interns (deadlines, daily routine, etc.), recommended literature, the procedure for preparing and submitting reporting documentation on practice.
Before practice, the student is required to receive from the relevant department: A program of professional practice and Methodological instructions, a work schedule, a diary report for completing professional practice.
Students sent to organizations that are bases of practice cannot change the place of internship after the relevant order is issued at the university.
If it is necessary to change the place of study, the term or the supervisor of the internship in the order upon refusal, due to illness of the student (the sickness certificate is valid for a week) or for other valid reasons with the provision of a supporting document, the department prepares a submission addressed to the dean of the faculty with a request to change place, term or practice manager. After consideration, the faculty prepares a submission addressed to the Member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, no later than the start of the internship.
During the internship, managers appointed by order must monitor the progress of its completion.
On the procedure for completing an internship in an organization that is not a practice base
If a student wishes to do an internship in an organization that is not a practice base, then he must enter into a tripartite agreement signed by the head of the organization and stamped, or provide a letter of request from the host organization (on letterhead, signed by the head).
About completing academic differences/practice debt
Students who have not completed an internship, who have not completed an internship program, who have received negative feedback on their work or an unsatisfactory grade when defending a diary report (academic debt), when transferring from another university, another EP (academic difference) are sent back to practice in the next academic period in parallel with theoretical training or during the summer semester on a paid basis according to an individual schedule.
If students go to study at partner universities as part of academic mobility, they can complete an internship there or before departure/arrival on an individual schedule for free.
If a student returns from academic leave and has an academic difference in practice, then he completes it free of charge on an individual schedule.
About the procedure for protecting practice reports
Based on the results of all types of practice, students submit a diary report to the appropriate department, which is checked by the head of practice and defended before a commission created by order of the head of the department. The results of defending the report are assessed by differentiated credit according to the established point-rating letter grading system. The defense of practice reports is carried out according to schedules with the preparation of a protocol.
The final score is entered into the AIS Platonus within a day after the defense.
