
The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University annually invites foreign specialists to cooperate within the framework of the program to attract foreign specialists. This is a great opportunity to share experiences, conduct joint research and develop academic ties.
Terms of participation
For whom: The program is open to foreign citizens – employees of foreign universities, research centers or laboratories.
Candidate Requirements:
- A scholar or academic degree (Doctor of Sciences, PhD, Candidate of Sciences, Master).
- For linguistic specialties and practicing professionals, a Master's degree is sufficient.
Cooperation Formats and Terms
You can choose the most convenient cooperation option:
- Long-term period (offline/online): a semester or a full academic year.
- Short-term period: a minimum of 3 months online or a minimum of 1 month offline.
Financial Conditions
The honorarium is calculated based on the professor's individual profile using a point-factor method. For long-term offline cooperation, the university also covers economy-class airfare. The participant is responsible for all other expenses, such as accommodation, medical insurance, and visa fees.
Key Responsibilities for Participants
The program aims to actively involve foreign specialists in the academic life of the university. Your tasks may include:
- Teaching: conducting lectures and practical classes (at least 12 credits per semester for the long-term format or 90 academic hours for the short-term format).
- Research: preparing publications for Web of Science/Scopus journals, co-supervising master's and doctoral dissertations, and conducting reviews.
- Interaction with colleagues: organizing training sessions and seminars for faculty, young researchers, and doctoral students, and joint preparation of grant applications.

This program involves online work with doctoral students on their dissertation topics as their foreign research advisor (in addition to the local main research advisor) for a period of 3 years. The payment is calculated based on the number of doctoral students.
Key Criteria:
- A PhD degree in the relevant specialty or a Doctor/Candidate degree in a specific field of science with experience in supervising doctoral dissertations.
- At least ten publications in the last five years in high-impact journals related to the doctoral program’s field.
Required documents for concluding a labor contract as a foreign doctoral research advisor:
- Copy of a valid passport (foreign citizenship is mandatory);
- CV and list of scientific publications;
- Copies of diplomas confirming the academic degree;
- Employment certificate.;
